despite a deep interest in politics i usually find it pointless to write about it, i have some respect for the scum bags, they are more gutsy in doing what they do , more than any of the my numerous likes who judge that from an armchair..
having said that, recently i found myself appreciating the UPA , especially after the left bail out. yeah, i call it a bail out for i saw them doing nothing for the country. they labeled the beneficiaries of liberalization as adversaries, they betrayed the trust of the numerous who they claim to be representing, after each justified event of a price rise, they stage a bengal bandh, they relish the pleasures of power while staying away from its responsibilities, such lotus eaters (no political pun intended) are the adversaries of nation's progress..not wealthy, not the beneficiaries..
i couldn't resist venting my spleen on them before coming back to the title of this blog.mr. singh , its acquired respect that i have for him, he saved the nation in the early 90s, when i started understanding economics, he was already the indian hero.but never in his career did he attract a good word as a worthy politician, the shrewd tactician, the leader.of that scam prone five years he emerged as the best thing that could happened to india say after independence.
fast forward..to the era where a broken mandate became a norm, the nothings like the pathogenic lefts with a 1/9th of the seats in a parliament elected by less than 2/3rd of the population . thus the representatives of 2/27th became the king makers, the power in a nation. and there began the five lap race.
a race with only one runner, a race finishing of which would be victory and all that happens enroute an achievemnt. railways (no credits to laloo yadav) ran into profits, airports became as crowded as stations as people started flying for five quids, computers , telecommunication and internet became cheaper, there has been a greater public interest in equities...more from the middle class have become investors, there has been an upsurge in tax collections.
and all of the above has been more of an inertia, my statement would beat physics, for if its inertia alone where are the frictional losses. but then i am entitled to an oppinion.some how mr.singh somehow did drag the four years at less than desired pace under the toxix and braking influence of the wiseacres...between all this he did one thing he felt was good , one thing he thought was as close to beimg good as possible, the nuclear agreement, he dragged it to the fag end..he saw the finish line within striking distance.. he sensed the oppurtunity to DO..the vehicle had become too heavy..there was a time limit he became aware of.. he untied the united ..and progressed without alliance..
the left lies somewhere by the sidewalks like a wounded cur..dropped by the master whom it guessed it owned and started teething.. now it barks..
go on mr.singh.. the bite of a hydrophobic dog does no extra harm at the verge of a natural death..this one chance..nuclear or not clear..use your resources..die a martyr.. do something for the nation while you can..
peace..
